Bio

Vivek is an independent researcher in human behaviour and the environment. He has worked on public policy in water demand management and conservation, using both quantitative and qualitative research methods. He holds a PhD from the Centre for Public Policy at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. His thesis was on water conservation behaviour in urban households. He has also studied water and groundwater from multiple research perspectives, including legal, political economy and hydrogeological perspectives.

He has global work experience in the energy and water sector with a focus on distribution and customer service. He was a Partner at Infosys Consulting and a Vice-President at Infosys before starting his PhD in 2013 to pursue his research interests in India’s public policy challenges by applying behavioural science. His work experience is largely at the business-IT-policy intersection and in several places around the world, including the USA, Europe, and India.

Vivek is also active in hands-on environmental action through volunteer work, such as improving water management in his community by implementing rainwater harvesting and planting native trees.
